OUR STORY
Active Pharma was founded by Dr. Mujeeb Rahman, a pioneering medical doctor who served on the front lines of Afghanistan’s humanitarian crisis when the country was ravaged by war and desperately short of medical resources.
After graduating from Nangarhar Medical University in 2011, Dr. Rahman devoted himself to providing essential healthcare in some of the most challenging circumstances imaginable. His early work at Nangarhar public hospital put him into the heart of the conflict, where he treated countless patients against a backdrop of limited supplies, ongoing violence, and overwhelming need.
Driven by an unrelenting commitment to rebuild his homeland, Dr. Rahman’s passion for progress saw him venture beyond medicine. In 2015, he founded multiple companies within Afghanistan’s logistics, construction, and telecom sectors, using his expertise to strengthen critical infrastructure.
His heart, however, remained in healthcare. Between 2016 and 2019, he returned to medical practice at Kamalpuri Clinic in Kabul, assembling and guiding teams of doctors, healthcare workers and support staff to deliver life-saving care despite constant threats to stability in the region.
In 2019, combining his frontline medical experience with his business experience, Dr. Rahman launched Active Pharma. His vision is to transform the delivery of medical and pharmaceutical products across Afghanistan. With the determination and support from his co-directors, Active Pharma has become the region’s most trusted distributor of essential medicines and healthcare products in the region.
